Thursday......Really ?

I can't believe it is already Thursday and I don't have a post ready. I hope this is not  a sign of how this month is going to go. My daughter Rachel is having a small surgical procedure done today and I guess this has been on my mind this week. Please keep in your prayers. Lucky for me I had this card done that I am teaching in a couple of weeks at Scrapbook Territory in Berkeley.
I used the Cypress Tree stencil (LG 650 ). The first thing I did was to distress the paper using Adirondack Denim ink leaving a white area in the middle. I then taped down my stencil and pasted the image with Black Matte Paste, remove and clean the stencil. When the image was dry I repositioned the stencil and pounced on some glue ( Palette Stamp and Stick Glue Pad) using a jumbo dauber keeping the glue just around the edges. I then painted on the Metallic F/X, the colors I used were Kiwi and Cocoa. I added some Stampendous Mica pieces from their Frantage collection at the bottom of the tree. This tree takes me to the beach and that definately says Summer to me.
I hope you'll play along in our Summer Fun Challenge, just go to the Dream it Up blog and link your creation to Mr. Linky or e-mail your card to Lynell's e-mail and she will get it onto the blog. My computer is having an issue today so to see what you can win go to the Dream It Up blog and check it out, a sneak peek of a new stencil coming out at CHA.

  1. I think this is beautiful Georgia. I love what is under the tree and the blue halo you stenciled around the tree...I think some people will feel like they got their money's worth just learning how you did that...Georgious as usual.

  5. Reminds me of the Lone Cypress at Pebble Beach – one of my favorite places. A lovely interpretation, right down to the "rock" is growing out of! Beautiful.
