Southwest Summer

Our challenge this month is summer fun, this card reminds so much of Tucson where my Mom and Sister live. It is a vibrant town full of color and wonderful designs.

For the background I started by pasting the Mosaic Swirls background on pale yellow card stock with regular embossing paste. Remove the stencil, clean and set the pasted background away to dry. Next I took some light blue card stock and dry embossed the Cactus in Pot stencil (LL 492) with the big shot. Leaving the stencil in place color using pan pastels. Cut down and place on layer of rust card stock.
THe background should now be dry, reposition the Mosaic stencil over the pasted area and rouge in the following colors: Morocco, Tangelo, Cantelope and Dandelion all inks are by Momento. When done layer onto rust card stock then layer the cactus in pot to the background.
While I am truly a California girl, I love and appreciate the beauty that the desert offers.
Hop on over to the Dream It Up blog and check out the stencil you can win if you send us your wonderful creation.

  3. Perfect card to match the warmer weather you've been having on your side of the bay (it's almost noon and we still don't have sun. I'm not complaining, mind you. I love this weather).
